Zero Balancing I is the first half of the Core Zero Balancing program and the first course of the Core Zero Balancing curriculum. ZB I introduces you to the techniques, theory, touch skills and history of the art and science of Zero Balancing. In this hands-on workshop, you will receive a full Zero Balancing session to experience the power of this unique work, and learn how to perform a full Zero Balancing session.
Zero Balancing (ZB) is a holistic touch-therapy that addresses issues in the body, mind, and spirit. In ZB, we focus on treating the bones and foundational joints of the body in a gentle and comprehensive way. Recieving a Zero Balancing session, or, "getting a ZB," is like coming home to oneself. By having the deepest structures of the body addressed and balanced, we feel genuinely balanced all the way to our core.
  • The Zero Balancing Health Association is the hub for Zero Balancing in North America - visit the website to learn more about what ZB is, and what classes are being taught all across the states and North America broadly.
  • The Zero Balancing Touch Foundation is our global non-profit - it holds the field for each member organization from different countries/areas around the world - North America, the UK, Switzerland, New Zealand, etc.
  • The Journal of Transformative Touch is a new and spectacular peer-reviewed journal where scientific studies as well as case studies are published. The more we can document and research the 'how and why' of what makes Zero Balancing such an amazing system, the better we can spread and represent this work.

Jared Urchek is a certified Faculty Member of the Zero Balancing Health Association. He has practiced Zero Balancing (ZB) since 2010. His interest in Zero Balancing began while studying to become a Licensed Acupuncturistat at ITEA in Colorado.

Jared teaches both Zero Balancing Level I and Level II  - and will be offering classes for more advanced classes in the future.

Who can take Zero Balancing Classes?
In short, anyone!
Zero Balancing classes are geared toward anyone who wants to learn how to offer a healing touch at a deeper level. No previous skills or education is required to join, just an openness to learn a new skill and interest in a healing modality!
This modality pairs well with other healing modalities such as massage, chiropractic and PT work, but can also be practiced solely. With no previous educational requirements, these classes are a great way to begin your own healing practice as well.

Sign up for our Newsletter to hear the latest about upcoming classes, or, see our Calendar of Events to check our all our offerings!
25 CEU for Practitioners
While anyone can join, ZB classes are a great opportunity for practitioners. Depending on state license, the following disciplines can receive 25 CEUs (continuing education credits) for taking Zero Balancing courses:
  • Massage Therapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Acupuncturists
  • Nurses
Zero Balancing Level I
Zero Balancing I introduces you to the technique, theory, touch skills, and history of the art and science of Zero Balancing.

You will learn:
  • Theory and principles of Zero Balancing body-mind therapy
  • Palpation and sensing of body energy within body structure
  • A touch method which uses clear boundaries so as not to feel drained working with clients
  • The skill of using energy as a working tool so more can be done with less effort
  • The structural and energetic anatomy of the skeleton, and special joints of focus in Zero Balancing
  • The theory of Zero Balancing touch techniques - called fulcrums - and how to use them

Zero Balancing Level II
This course will expand on the principles and basic protocol of Zero Balancing, a holistic body-mind therapy that engages both body energy and body structure simultaneously. This practice can be a stand-alone therapy, or be incorporated into other therapeutic wellness practices such as PT, OT, acupuncture,  massage, and many other modalities.

You will learn:
  • A review of the basic ZB protocol with an emphasis on quality of touch, focus and positioning of the practitioner
  • To deepen your understanding of ZB theory, principles and techniques
  • Additional techniques and an expanded protocol to address more of the body
  • New skills and coordination in handling energy and structure
  • How to frame or set goals for a ZB session in a more nuanced way
  • To advance your ability to work with expanded states of consciousness
  • To give and receive constructive peer feedback
  • To acquire experience in preparation for advanced study

Learn More about ZBII
The ZB community that has been built over the last 50 years is the most kind and authentic I have yet to engage with - it's a pleasure and an honor to continue building that community with those who take these classes.
Become a Certified Zero Balancing Practitioner
Certification is a fantastic way to deeply refine skills and to learn how to offer this work in a consistent way and of high quality.  To become Certified, a person must take ZB level I and ZB level II, as well as two additional advanced classes. Once all 4 classes have been taken, there is a bit more work of touch feedback and certification exam. More info can be found here.

I currently teach both Zero Balancing Level I as well as Zero Balancing Level II, and will be teaching more advanced classes within the next few years. In the meantime, I work to host other teachers to come into the area who can offer the advanced program.

Becoming certified in ZB is an in-depth process that is both rigorous and engaging.  We help train people to offer highly skilled, sensitive, and transformative touch.  Come and join us in offering really good healing work - the world is in need of it!
